How can you tell if your team is working efficiently?
Now we shift to your full team’s ability to “get more done”.
If each person in the clinic is working at maximum productivity and your team is working at maximum efficiency, then you should be able to maximize billings per billing cycle.
So, here’s the million-dollar question – how do you get there?
COMMUNICATION.
As a leader, have you considered:
- what are the core values that will guide you and each of your clinic members?
- how do you communicate expectations for each role to deliver these values?
- what drives each member of your team?
- are you self-aware of your style of leadership?
- how do you pair your style with each unique individual when giving and receiving feedback?
Imagine how productive and efficient your staff would be the help maximize your billing if you were able to answer each of the above questions with clarity!
I wish that I could outline 4 or 5 steps that would help you to get to this clarity, but it’s not that easy.
How does anyone become an innovator and master of their craft?
My guess is through consistent practice, constant iteration and being aware of incremental improvements.
In a medical clinic setting, this can take place in many ways, which can include
- mentorship
- one-to-one meetings
- regular staff meetings to align on protocols
But what about things that you don’t know?
As a clinic owner or manager, you could…
- read books
- listen to podcasts
- join a medical association or networking group
The problem is, that most people don’t have time to do these things. And when they do, it takes time an effort to create, implement and follow up on such initiatives.
