Strengthening Nurse-Pharma Communication Across Territories

The Challenge

When the team of nurses in the Patient Support Program (PSP) and I first met, they needed more effective ways to communicate with their pharma industry counterparts in each territory. The pharma company recognized the importance of having these counterparts aligned in two key areas:

  1. Clearly defining who the customer is.
  2. Establishing open communication and respectful candor while maintaining clear boundaries and compliance with their respective companies, all while upholding the unique values of each organization.

They really wanted to create a collaborative environment where nurses and pharma representatives could work together effectively while respecting both compliance requirements and individual corporate values. However, they needed a structured way to facilitate these discussions and ensure alignment across territories.

Results

Now, these territory counterparts across Canada have a clearer understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and shared goals. Communication has improved, allowing for more transparent problem-solving and collaboration. Teams now work together more effectively while remaining compliant and aligned with their company values.
